Topic: The Eye of the Storm: Scaling the Pickens Plan website after huge media attention
How many things can go wrong when a client's website crashes under heavy load, their next big event is in less than a week, and you have to make sure it won't crash again? When their website crashed following a national TV advertisement, The Pickens Plan, an energy-independency advocacy group, turned to The Bivings Group to provide a solution. John Bafford will cover the problems and solutions surrounding fixing the website and adding a load-balancer, including complications presented by WordPress and the use of a content-distribution network.
